(More customer reviews)We had been using the Nespresso Aeroccino Milk Frother for a few years now, but continued to have issues. We had to replace 2 units because they just stopped working, the milk continued to stick and burn on the bottom of the pot, it was very difficult to clean, and the reservoir size was very small. Our 3rd Aeroccino just died, and this time I was going to research and find a better solution. After digging around the internet, I found that the Froth Au Lait products were very well liked, and didn't have the issues I noted above, but the size of their reservoirs were much larger than the Aeroccino. We normally would make one or two cappuccinos at a time, and we didn't want a larger unit on our counter. Lo and behold we found this just released Froth Au Lait MINI. I had a few questions, so I contacted the manufacturer and was promptly speaking with the owner. She was extremely friendly and helpful, answering all of my questions, and confirmed that the MINI was best suited for our needs. This product made the best milk froth, was easy to clean, did not burn the milk, and the size of the reservoir was perfect for 1 to 4 cappuccinos (just adjust the amount of milk). We may have been the first to buy this product on Amazon, but for sure will not be the last.

Gaggia 11300 Baby D Semi-Automatic Espresso Machine, Silver Review

(More customer reviews)This machine could not be better. It's a Porche. Clean, efficient, easy to use and maintain, and makes great espresso. I had a Krupps and a Seco before and this machine makes those seem like toys. I'd recomend this without reservation. My only complaint is the size of the water tank (too small requiring frequent refilling, though that is very easy to do).

(More customer reviews)The Bosch Benvenuto B30 is an exceptional coffee maker. We used to have a fully automatic Saeco model for the past 9 years, but it recently started leaking and so we decided to get a new machine.
Before buying the Benvenuto B30, we researched quite a few machines: The Saeco models we saw on store display didn't strike us as too well-made. Our old one was largely metal but we found the new models to be made of relatively flimsy-feeling plastic. We then looked at the Jura machines but ultimately decided against them due to their high prices, reviews we read that the coffee isn't made hot enough, and also because Jura machines only allow for three different coffee strength settings - weak, medium, and strong. We wanted more choices.
Having had experience with these types of machines for almost 10 years, we knew what we wanted: a height-adjustable spout, the possibility to use both beans and ground coffee, a relatively quiet operation, and an intelligent design which would tell us when to refill water, beans, when to clean, descale, etc. The B30 does all that and more. Moreover, it offers stylish design and is very well made.
The machine does not take long to reach its required operating temperature and the electronic display informs you when it is ready. The coffee strength can be adjusted from mild to extra-strong. Furthermore, the amount of water can be adjusted to accomodate small Espresso cups, XXL coffee mugs and pretty much everything in-between.
Undoubtedly the best feature is the height-adjustable spout, or rather spouts (the B30 has 2) which let you brew 2 cups of coffee simultaneously - a huge time-saver in the morning! We found that although the height can only be adjusted by little over 4 inches, there is no problem to use cups higher than that. This is due to the clever design that gives ample and easy access to the spouts from the side as well as from the front - we just move the cups under the spouts holding them at a slight angle. With our old Saeco machine, we always had to remove the grille and tray to be able to accomodate larger mugs.
Another very nice feature is that the water temperature can be adjusted. At the Maximum setting, the coffee is piping hot - very useful when adding cold frothed milk to it because with other machines, this makes the coffee too cold to be enjoyable. The B30 even has a heated top grille for pre-heating your coffee mugs!
And if all of that weren't enough, the machine even has an automatic timer function to automatically turn itself on at a pre-set time, and turn itself off again after a set number of hours.
In summary, this machine is incredibly easy to operate, fast and makes excellent coffee in all kinds of strengths and sizes. An integrated steamer to froth milk, etc. is of course standard.
The only other thing I would like to mention is that if you are a larger family of coffee lovers, you may find the water tank to be a bit on the small side. In our house we're just two people and find that we have to refill the tank every day after just 2 - 3 cups of XXL-size coffee. Then again: This also ensures that the water is always fresh and not stale from sitting in the tank for too long. So you be the judge whether this is a negative or not.
I whole-heartedly recommend this machine which in my opinion offers a lot more than the overpriced Jura machines, especially when it comes to flexibility!

Breville BCG800XL Smart Grinder Review

(More customer reviews)This was my husband's "BIG" gift for the holiday, and he hasn't liked a gift this much in a very long time! He likes to think he is a coffee buff, but never had a burr coffee grinder before, and after comparing model after model, name brand after name brand, I chose the Breville BCG800XL Smart Grinder for his gift.
We used to have a nice $50 Cuisinart grinder for years, and it still works well, but the noise it produced was horrifying (and I am NOT exaggerating, the NEIGHBORS even knew we were up when they heard the grinder, we live in a 2 story single family home), and the coffee grounds my husband left all around the machine when he removed the grounds bin was a daily annoyance. That coffee grinder has been cleaned & now happily residing at his office, where they can enjoy the mess and the noise, and a pretty good cup of coffee.
Now you wouldn't think that switching grinders would have an overall impact in the coffee quality, but did it ever! The coffee tastes so much richer, fuller and more aromatic than before! Even our 23 year old son said "Wow mom, this coffee is good, did you switch beans?" Was he surprised to find out all we did was switch grinders!
NOISE: Minimal, I can't even hear it when I'm sleeping. Our old grinder running used to be my wake up call upstairs, on the second floor, in the opposite corner of the house! The Breville's noise is semi~pleasant, like another reviewer stated, and not annoying at all, almost comforting. Happily, the noise just stays in the kitchen now, so only the smell of great coffee wakes me up on the opposite end of the house, YUM!
MESS: Zip, ziltch, nada. I am very pleased that the coffee grounds are housed safely & neatly in the attractive container. No issues with grind mess everywhere.
COST: OK.. can't find it anywhere below $199. I compared a lot of models out there, the two I ALMOST went with were the Kitchenaid $160~ish dollar model (Kitchenaid reviews weren't as good, and there was mention all over the internet about bulk and footprint of the machine), and the cheaper Breville around $95 or so, but the grindings all over the place by a couple of reviewers was enough to turn me off of that model. I opted for spending a more, and got a great machine my husband absolutely loves.
SIZE: Smaller than I thought it was going to be, packs a big BIG tower of conical burrs for massive grinding power. Just takes up the same small footprint of our old Cuisinart model, but a bit taller, so no issues there.
LOOKS: Stylish and elegant. It looks like a sophisticated appliance that can take a lot of wear & built to last. We display it proudly next to our old faithful "BUNN" coffee maker.
QUALITY: No flimsy hardware here, it all performs & appears like it will last for years. Backlit display seems very durable as well, and is very nice to aide pinpointing the perfect grind. The conical burrs are super sharp, super tough, and plentiful. My husband was impressed.
CLEANUP: Not difficult. They provide a nice brush that does a good job, esp since we enjoy a dark french roast with some beans being quite oily. Have to clean it more often with those types of beans anyway. No issues here.
GRIND CHOICES: OK.. WOW is all I can say. The description says it all, pick your grind, pick the strength, pick the amounts, whatever. Tons of ways to tweak the grind out to your liking.
HOPPER: AIRTIGHT! Our old Cuisinart wasn't airtight, but this one is, and holds a whole 1 pound bag of beans with ease. No need to constantly refill!
There are a lot of other attachments & things to do with this, but I hit the highlights for what we use it for. Our morning cup of YUM, and boy did this ever deliver.
CONS: Haven't found any yet, other than the $199 cost. Only time will tell if this machine is as durable as we think it can be. But since it only had a few reviews, and I always go to Amazon first, I needed to write this to add it to the happy family of 5 star ratings for this grinder.
Hopefully, this will be the last grinder we will ever need for quite a L O N G time. We are amazed at everything about this machine & the coffee it makes.

Jura-Capresso 13345 IMPRESSA F8 Automatic Coffee and Espresso Center Review

(More customer reviews)I love this coffee maker! No more cleaning pots, bitter burnt coffee, coffee filters, daily cleaning, grinding coffee beans etc... This coffee maker does it all! The Impressa F8 makes the best coffee I ever tasted. It is almost too good to be true. All you have to do is select your cup size and press a button...it is that easy. We have three people in our house who drink coffee in the morning now everyone gets a fresh cup of coffee whenever they want. No more drinking the burnt bitter left over coffee that has been sitting in the pot for who knows how long. Cleaning is as easy as pressng a button all you need to do is empty the used bean tray every so often (the machine tells you when). If you drink coffee every day...this is well worth the cost! I wish I had one of these sooner!

Nespresso D290R Concept Automatic Espresso Machine, Red and Black Review

(More customer reviews)I first met this machine while in my hotel room in Oslo Norway while for business. I'm such a coffee snob when it comes to coffee that I usually bring my coffee and filters with me on business trips and was overcome by how good -scratch that - GREAT this "pod" coffee and machine produced. Upon return to US I started searching for the machine and found it here at Amazon! Pods are 50 cents a pop so neither this machine - nor the coffee is for the faint of heart. BUT - once it arrived home I immediately gave away all my beans and have used nothing else since. Its Terrific and doesn't disappoint day after day!!!!
