(More customer reviews)I'm someone who is pretty critical of products, and have written some pretty scathing reviews of items that I feel have let me down. But having bought two of these, I just do NOT understand the bad reviews. First, I find it astounding that even ONE person (let alone THREE) would think that the rack comes with the capsules. Really? Do you also think your breakfast cereal comes with the fruit, bowls, silverware, and smiling children on the box? I mean, no offense people, but come on... use your heads. (And as most people who buy nespresso know, you can only buy the capsules from nespresso. no other entity sells them. annoying, yes, but that's the way it is.) Second, while I can't exactly say that it is an economical solution (if you want that, a cardboard box or existing drawer would probably work just fine), it is WAY cheaper than anything on nespresso's own site (their capsule storage solutions are jokes -- I'm a total sucker for consumer goods and even I won't pay the ridiculous prices they charge). While I understand the criticism that there should be additional mounting options besides the double stick mounting tape, it's not THAT big of a deal. (In my case, the double stick mounting tape they supplied kind of sucked, not nearly sticky or adhesive enough for the inside of my cabinet door, and I heard a crash in the middle of the night and woke up to capsules all over the shelves!I replaced it with heavy duty velcro adhesive, and I've never had a problem since. So yes, I'll deduct one star for the lame mounting tape.) But for people with criticisms like "what if I move?": It's SO easy to go to a hardware store and get new velcro or new mounting tape for your new house. You can pick it up while you're buying moving boxes!

Nespresso CitiZ C110 Automatic/Programmable Coffee Espresso and Lungo Machine, Titanium Review

(More customer reviews)This machine looks cool, industrial, somewhat retro and couldn't be easier to use. All it takes is to turn it on, pop in a capsule, and then press either the Espresso (small cup) or the Lungo (bigger cup) button. A few moments later, the coffee pours into the cup. That's all there is to it.
The Citiz also feels high quality. For example, the tray that holds the espresso cup feels nice and heavy, and not like some flimsy cheap piece of plastic. Oftentimes smaller parts like that reveal the true quality of a machine and the Nespresso Citiz delivers here without question, high marks for that.
The machine comes with 16 sample capsules, i.e. one of each of the 16 permanently available flavors. It is fun trying these out and deciding on personal favorites. The machine produces rich crema for all flavors, so no complaints here. Each cup looks and tastes like the real thing, i.e. a nice and strong espresso or lungo.
The only caveat I see is with the Nespresso marketing system. The Grand Cru capsules this machine uses are exclusively available through Nespresso's website. They cannot be purchased anywhere else. That's one thing. I was also put off by the brouhaha Nespresso creates on its website - as if one were purchasing the crown jewels of coffee. Example: One cannot even order capsules before one has registered a machine, serial no. and all (i.e. no buying capsules ahead of time, before the machine is delivered). In addition to that, one only receives a membership number after the first order was placed. It feels too exclusive for its own good and the graphic-rich website with visible load times (even through very fast connections) gets in the way of efficiency. Add to that all the other marketing efforts on that website - from promoting exclusive Nespresso boutiques in the most expensive cities in the world to selling shamelessly overpriced accessories such as cups and carrying cases, and I can't help but slightly regret having decided on this machine. All I wanted was a machine that makes good espresso. I really do not care about Nespresso boutiques and simple machine carriers for a whopping $90.
I assume this is supposed to create exclusivity and make the customer feel like someone with a discerning taste. To me it borders on ridiculous. That said, the coffee is good and the design of the machine works. So I am still giving it 4 stars. Other than that I am trying my hardest to ignore all the rest...
UPDATE 6/2011:
It looks like there have been some changes made to the Nespresso website. It seems that now one actually can order the capsules without first having registered a machine.

(More customer reviews)We purchased this machine primarily to make cappuccinos and lattes. It is easy to use and consistently makes excellent drinks. We use bottled water for all of our coffee so we have not had to descale the maker. However, the machine comes with a water-hardness tester and the machine can be adjusted based upon water hardness. We did not have to use the tester or make any adjustments.
Having to order the coffee pods directly from Nespresso may be a problem for some users. We order all my coffee online so we do not find ordering the pods from Nespresso to be particularly inconvenient. Also, we like knowing that the pods are not sitting on the shelf of a retailer for months.
If you are looking for a machine to make espressos, cappuccinos and lattes, you will love this machine. We have not been disappointed at all with this machine and would buy it again.
At the time of this review, there is only one other review of the Nespresso Lattessimo Premium. I do not necessarily disagree with some of the points that reviewer is making. For the use he or she is describing, there are better choices (Kruig makes an excellent single cup coffee maker). In using another espresso machine, we found that low fat milk makes better foam. We also prefer using 0% or 2% milk, so that is not an issue for us.

(More customer reviews)I was initially reluctant to buy this based on the fact that they use proprietary pods. Had that reluctance stuck with me, I probably would've spent a few hundred more on a high-quality manual espresso machine, or over a thousand on an automatic machine. $.52 a cup is reasonable when you consider that grinding your own works out to about $.30 a cup, but yields a greater mess and requires more soap and water for cleanup each time. With two little kids at home - who has time to clean? I was absolutely giddy the first time I used both the machine and the frother. Separately and together, both machines match or rival what all too many of us pay $3-5 for from the local coffee shop. I'm convinced that our friends will like us more if we decide to share some of this with them. I bought this at Williams-Sonoma based on loyalty as I had sampled it 3 times over a two week period and finally couldn't take it anymore. I had to have one! Consumer reports also ranks this machine highest in its class. The only machine that offered comparable taste was larger, cost about a grand, and requires more cleaning.

Nespresso Essenza Auto C101 US Review

(More customer reviews)I was quite skeptical about such a system until I had a demo of it at my local Williams-Sonoma store. It makes a very acceptable espresso, in addition to a roughly 4 ounce coffee. No one should be under the impression that this makes the world's greatest espresso. But it is very good, and very simple. Pop in a capsule, press the button and seconds later you have a great espresso. No fuss, and no mess.
On other sites I have heard complaints that you are locked into Nespresso's capsules, which is true, however I am finding that there is enough variety to keep me satisfied.
For my casual espresso drinking habit, this machine fits the bill perfectly.

(More customer reviews)The Bennoti is a very nice, easy-to-use espresso capsule machine. It's quick and offers nice crema. Prime each new cup for about five seconds to warm the outer hardware. (Leave your old capsule in for the prime.) Also warm your cup with water to boiling in the microwave. Use heat-retaining cups to keep the espresso warmer longer. Double up each cup by inserting a new cap half-way through for ultra-rich espresso with very nice crema for a machine of this price. Doubling up also helps the quality because the Bennoti caps themselves aren't the best. (Hence the four-stars.) The customer service is laughable, and they're still sending me dual orders of the wrong coffee. Oh well, I'll just keep drinking it.
